Privacy Policy
The important-but-readable stuff about how we handle your data 🔐
1. Who We Are 👋
WeNanny is operated by ROQ CX - FZCO (Trade License No: 4473), a company licensed by the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority and regulated by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. When we say "we", "us", or "WeNanny", we mean ROQ CX - FZCO. We are the data controller for the personal data we collect when you use our platform.
Our service connects families with nannies in the UAE. To do that well and keep everyone safe, we need to collect and use certain information about you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.
2. What Data We Collect 📋
We collect only what we need to run the platform, verify profiles, and keep things safe and legal. Here's the breakdown:
Account & profile
- Name, email address, and password (for your account)
- Phone number (if you provide it)
- Profile details: experience, qualifications, preferences, location, photos, and anything you add to your nanny or family profile
- Assessment results (for nannies: readiness and Caregiving Compass dimensions we use for matching)
Usage & technical
- How you use the site (e.g. searches, views, messages) so we can improve the product and matching
- Device and browser info, IP address, and general location (e.g. country/region) for security and analytics
- Logs of actions on the platform (e.g. sign-in, profile updates) for safety and support
Communications
- Messages you send through WeNanny (between families and nannies)
- Support or contact form messages you send to us
- If you opt in to marketing: we may use your email to send updates, tips, and offers
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for purposes unrelated to the service without telling you or getting your consent where required.
3. Why We Use Your Data 🎯
We use your data to provide, secure, and improve WeNanny. Main reasons:
- Service delivery: creating your account, showing profiles, running assessments, and enabling matching and messaging
- Safety & trust: verification, moderation, and investigating misuse or complaints
- Legal & compliance: meeting our legal obligations in the UAE (e.g. regulated activities, responding to authorities when required)
- Improvement: analytics (often aggregated) to improve the product and user experience
- Marketing: only if you have agreed — newsletters, product updates, and relevant offers. You can opt out anytime
Where we rely on your consent (e.g. marketing), you can withdraw it at any time. Where we rely on contract or legal obligation, we need the data to run the service or comply with the law.
4. Who We Share Data With 🤝
We do not sell your data. We may share it only in these situations:
- Other users: as part of the service (e.g. your profile and assessment results visible to families or nannies as you choose; messages with people you contact)
- Service providers: companies that help us run the platform (hosting, email, analytics, support). They are bound by contracts to use data only as we instruct and to keep it secure
- Legal & authorities: when required by UAE law or to protect our or others' rights and safety
We may share aggregated or anonymised data (that cannot identify you) for analytics or reporting.
5. How Long We Keep Data ⏱️
We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above:
- While your account is active, we keep your profile and activity data to run the service
- After you close your account, we may retain some data for a limited period for legal, safety, or dispute-resolution reasons (e.g. as required by UAE law or our terms)
- Marketing preferences: we honour opt-outs and stop marketing use once you unsubscribe
When we no longer need the data, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Your Rights ✅
Depending on where you live (including the UAE and other jurisdictions), you may have rights such as:
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (you can also update much of this in your account settings)
- Deletion: ask us to delete your data, subject to legal or legitimate reasons we may need to keep some of it
- Opt-out of marketing: unsubscribe from emails or update preferences in your account
- Complaint: lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. in the UAE or your country of residence)
To exercise these rights, use our Contact Us form or the contact details at the end of this policy. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.
7. Cookies & Similar Tech 🍪
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the site, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not work fully if you disable certain cookies.
We use the following third-party tools that set or read cookies and tracking identifiers:
- Google Analytics (GA4): measures how visitors use the site (pages visited, session duration, general location). Data is aggregated and used to improve the product. Google may process this data on servers outside the UAE.
- Meta Pixel: measures the effectiveness of our marketing (e.g. whether someone who saw a WeNanny ad later signed up). This involves Meta (Facebook) receiving data about visits to our site and may be used to serve ads to people who have visited WeNanny on Meta platforms.
Both tools are disabled for admin users. If you prefer not to be tracked, you can use browser settings or extensions to block these scripts.
8. Security 🔒
We use technical and organisational measures (e.g. encryption, access controls, secure hosting) to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No system is 100% secure, so we ask you to keep your password safe and tell us if you suspect any misuse of your account.
9. International & UAE 🌍
WeNanny is based in the UAE and our systems may process data in the UAE and in other countries where our service providers operate. When we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g. contracts, standard clauses) as required by applicable law. By using WeNanny, you acknowledge that your data may be processed in these locations.
We comply with applicable data protection laws, including those in the UAE. Where relevant (e.g. for users in the EEA/UK), we also respect rights under laws such as the GDPR.
10. Children 👶
WeNanny is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy 🔄
We may update this privacy policy from time to time (for example, when we add features or when the law changes). We will post the updated version on this page and, for material changes, we may notify you by email or a notice on the platform. The "Last updated" date at the bottom will change when we do. Continued use of WeNanny after updates means you accept the revised policy.
12. Contact Us 💌
For privacy-related questions, to exercise your rights, or to report a concern, please use our Contact Us form. You can also reach us by post at our registered address (as published in our terms and official company records). We will respond without undue delay.
