Paediatric NICU nurse · IBCLC · Paediatric sleep consultant
I trained as a paediatric nurse in the UK over twenty years ago and spent most of my career in NICU, caring for the tiniest, most vulnerable babies, often in genuine emergencies, where the difference between a nurse or nursery nurse who's trained and one who's guessing is the difference that matters most.
That's the standard I hold Dubai nanny training to. Not a certificate for the sake of one. Real, clinical, safety-first education: choking response, infant CPR, safe sleep practices, health & hygiene, safeguarding, recognising when a baby or child needs urgent help versus when they don't. The things you hope a nanny never has to use, taught properly so that if she does, she's ready.
When I moved to Dubai, I saw how many families were hiring childcare with no way to verify what "experienced" actually meant. No consistent nanny education standard. No one checking that safety basics were actually covered, not just assumed. That gap is why I built the Dubai Nanny Training Programme: a structured, competency-assessed curriculum, not a one-off workshop, covering everything from safe sleep and feeding to emergency response and age-appropriate care.
I'm also an IBCLC lactation consultant and certified paediatric sleep consultant, which means the nannies I train aren't just briefed on safety protocol. They are educated in feeding, settling, and infant development well enough to actually support your routine at home, not work against it.
